(February 2026) ELKHART, IN – EFP (Engineered Foam Packaging), a leading provider of high-volume molding, fabrication, and cold chain solutions, announced today the acquisition of the Michigan-based company Packaging Engineering – Brighton (PE-B). The acquisition represents a strategic step in expanding EFP’s technical depth and capabilities in Expanded Polypropylene (EPP), Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), and advanced bead-molded material applications, including product design, qualification, and prototyping.
“Today marks an exciting milestone for EFP as we welcome the talented team from Packaging Engineering – Brighton into the EFP family,” said John Hoeper, President at EFP. “This acquisition represents a strategic investment in our future and strengthens our vision to expand our technical leadership in EPP, EPS, and advanced bead-molded material applications. By adding PE-B’s engineering depth and design expertise, we are accelerating our ability to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions to our customers across key markets.”
Located in Howell, Michigan, the new location will serve as a dedicated hub for design consulting, CAD optimization, tooling support, and production guidance in closer proximity to EFP’s core operations. The expansion enhances engineering collaboration, improves logistical efficiency, and reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction across North America.
“Joining EFP represents an exciting new chapter for the PE-B team. We are energized to bring our capabilities into the EFP organization and support its long-term growth and technical vision. I look forward to concluding my molded foam career as part of the EFP team and contributing to its continued success,” said James Rittmueller, President of PE-B.
The combined organization further positions EFP as a true full-service technical partner, not just a product supplier. It enhances the ability to support growth in reusable transport packaging, thermal systems, and protective EPS programs, while expanding access to advanced engineering resources for existing customers. At the same time, it introduces PE-B clients to EFP’s broader manufacturing and packaging capabilities.
By integrating advanced engineering resources with expanded manufacturing capabilities, EFP is well positioned to deliver long-term value to customers through innovation and sustainability practices, while advancing its corporate purpose of Protecting What Matters.
